It seems like the warning signs are everywhere.
The Middle East is on fire, people are rioting and fighting with one-another. I am scared for the people in Egypt. They are so close to having a complete melt-down of society. They are out of money and food and fuel prices are soaring.
Does any of this sound familiar? Our Country isn’t really doing much better. The economy is in the crapper and prices are on the rise…
Have you started yet? Are you preparing your family for the “what-ifs” that could be coming our way? If you haven’t yet started, what’s the hold up? If you are not going to prepare now, what is it going to take to get you convinced that Self-Reliance is an important principle to learn? What is it they say? If you fail to prepare, you are preparing to fail…
I’m in ultimate prep mode right now. I feel like all I can do is to hope for the best but prepare for the worst.
I try my best to not be a pessimist; but it’s not easy when I am researching and trying to learn about so many “negative” things that have happened in the past. I’ve spent a lot of time recently learning about how people survived the great depression. It is amazing to me to read the stories. I have realized how soft I really am! I have a lot to learn and do before I will be truly ready to deal with any crises that come my way.
I have read many books recently that get down and dirty with how things used to be done. One of my new favorite books is called “Making the Best of Basics: Family Preparedness Handbook” by James Talmage Stevens. Mr. Talmage does a really good job of breaking down an otherwise overwhelming subject into easy to read and understand sections.
Just a guy trying to do the right thing by getting myself and my family prepared for an emergency, a catastrophe, or whatever may come. Still learning, but trying to document everything along the way.
